Black Medicine Collective – Key Initiatives
Black Medicine Collective is built on real experiences, real impact, and a continued commitment to ensuring that knowledge is not only shared—but used to change lives.
Turning Our Story Into Impact
Before Black Medicine Collective was created, the foundation of this work was already being built through lived experience and advocacy.
During my mother’s battle with cancer, we were allowed to share our journey with others. What began as a deeply personal story became something much larger—an opportunity to raise awareness, inspire others, and contribute to meaningful change within the healthcare system.
Together, my mother and I partnered with Seton Hospital to share our story as part of a broader effort to support patient care and community health initiatives.
Through that experience, we helped raise over $600,000 in support of the hospital’s mission.
This moment was more than a fundraising effort—it was a testament to the power of storytelling, community, and purpose.
It showed me that:
Stories can move people
Lived experiences can drive change
Community support can directly impact healthcare outcomes
Knowledge that empowers. Care that saves.
Knowledge that empowers. Care that saves.
Our work is centered around the following initiatives:
Why This Matters Today
That experience helped shape the vision for Black Medicine Collective.
It reinforced the belief that when people are given a platform to share, educate, and connect, the impact can be transformational—not just emotionally, but systemically.
Today, that same spirit lives within Black Medicine Collective.
We continue to use storytelling, education, and community engagement as tools to:
Raise awareness
Empower individuals
Support better health outcomes
